Needle in a haystack?

On my way to the train station this morning, something caught my eye in this field. Can you see what it is? I got an interesting comment from a passerby for taking this shot. Close up and comment tomorrow...

Hi Kaa,

It's a Fly Agaric, or at least that's its English name.

Brilliant fungus! The vikings observed that after eating the mushroom Reindeer went a little crazy, they tried it themselves and found it had the same effect...

It sends you to sleep with fantastic psychedelic dreams then when you wake you believe you are all powerful! Apparently you can get the same effect from drinking the urine of someone who has eat the mushroom!
Unfortunately it is classed as deadly poisonous so I have never had the nerve to try it.

It's other use, and the reason it got its name is much more sensible. Break it up into a bowl of milk and it attracts flies which then die after drinking the milk. It is still effective after drying so can be used out of season.

Cheers.
