not dried up...
These are the Vantaankoski rapids in the Vantaanjoki river. The river continues it's journey to Helsinki and pours out into the sea. Helsinki DP has a photo. This old file factory was founded in 1890 and now functions as a restaurant called Kuninkaan Lohet(King's Salmon). For an historical insight of this place, click here
This was taken on the other side of the bridge i was standing. Rapids fishing is of the activities done here. Thanx to Sari for pointing out this scenic place in Vantaankoski.

I enjoy both photos, especially the first one with the building.
informative.
this is one place I've never been in Helsinki.
pdpb: this location is in Vantaa. Have u been in Helsinki before?
Oh I do like that building. It reminds me of a face. /me waves hello from San Antonio.
oh, you got there. :)
you should also visit another spot along vantaanjoki: vanhankaupunginkoski in helsinki. there are nice old brick buildings and lots of woods near it. most regional buses come pretty near past it from vantaa =)
