Theme Day: A Public Mail Box
It's theme day again. I missed the last one. So glad to have made it to this one on time. Jus the normal standard sized mailbox here in Finland. There is also a smaller version to this which is half the size.
The one here is found next to a small neighbourbood building of shops. I wanted to say shopping centre but that conjours up images of a big fancy place which it is not.
64 other Daily Photo sites are participating in the 1st April theme, "A Public Mail Box", please use the links to below to visit them. Due to time zone differences and other factors, the theme photo may not be displayed until later if you are viewing early in the day. VANTAA is no.35

it looks rather cold and wet there still -- same here really.
Neat and trim looking. Well cared for, or so it seems.
It reminds me of DHL, the yellow colour there.
Well, I think the mails must all be express like DHL :-)
It is nice to see a color other than Red or Blue ... I did not post about this however I found that the trend in the US to toward larger mailboxes. Some as large as a car. I think this trend also implies fewer mailboxes.
Good find Kaa. Do you miss the red ones?
Kaa - good choice and glad you made it to this month's theme day. Is it made of wood or is it metal? I can't tell in the photo.
Great colors...happy colors.
colours are cheerful, I like it
A nice yellow one! Bon dimanche!
yellow and blue! That's nice :)
It looks like wood to me too Michael. A very different kind of mailbox from Theme day.
tall and proud =)
Mailbox is so different in each country. It is suprising, isn't it?
It looks very cool...I like it. And proud - not hiding away like some we have seen!
Didn't realize there were so many yellow mail boxes around the world.
thanx for all the comments. The mailbox is made of metal.
Funny how we all find almost human qualities to a mailbox, but we do. The mail used to be something special, when people used to write letters long hand and everything. I like this mailbox a lot! Thank you for taking the time to post it for us ! :)
